Everything from a dead circuit to a new distribution board.

Domestic and light commercial electrical work, priced in writing and certified on completion.

Switchboard upgrades and safety switches

The job that makes every other job easier. A rewireable fuse board gets replaced with a modern enclosure, properly earthed, with a residual current device protecting each circuit rather than one shared unit doing everything — or nothing.

  • Ceramic and rewireable fuses replaced with RCBOs, one per circuit
  • Main switch, main earth and equipotential bonding brought up to current requirements
  • Consumer mains checked for size and condition before anything is added
  • Spare ways left on the board for the extension or charger you have not built yet
  • Circuit legend written and fitted so the next person is not guessing

Rewires, fault finding and repairs

Perished rubber and VIR cabling, brittle insulation in the roof space, a circuit that trips only when it rains. Older homes across the inner west are full of wiring that worked fine for decades and is now at the end of it. We trace the fault before quoting the fix.

  • Full or partial rewires staged room by room where a whole-house rewire is not practical
  • Nuisance tripping traced to the actual circuit rather than guessed at
  • Failed points, damaged cabling and unsafe junctions repaired and made accessible
  • Roof space and subfloor cabling inspected while access is open
  • Ceiling fans, exhaust fans and heaters checked when they are on the same circuit

Lighting and power points

The small work that changes how a room is used. Halogen downlights swapped for LED, a dark hallway given a sensor, a kitchen bench that finally has a power point where the kettle actually sits.

  • LED downlight and batten changeovers, including insulation clearances checked
  • Pendants, wall lights and under-bench lighting installed and switched sensibly
  • Extra GPOs, double and USB outlets added on the correct circuit
  • Outdoor, deck, sensor and security lighting rated for a coastal-side location
  • Two-way and dimmer switching set up so the room works from both ends

Renovation and extension wiring

Rough-in and fit-off run around the builder's schedule. We walk the plan with you before a cable goes in, because moving a switch is free on paper and expensive once the plaster is on.

  • Rough-in coordinated with framing, insulation and plaster stages
  • Kitchen and bathroom circuits sized for induction, ovens and heated towel rails
  • Dedicated circuits for air conditioning, hot water and laundry appliances
  • Data, television and NBN lead-in cabling pulled while the walls are open
  • Studio, garage and granny flat submains run and protected correctly

EV charger installation

A wall charger is a straightforward install on a healthy supply and a bad idea on a tired one. We check the mains, the board and the existing load first, then quote the charger and the cable run together.

  • Supply capacity and existing load assessed before equipment is recommended
  • Single-phase and three-phase wall chargers installed on a dedicated circuit
  • Cable routed through garage, carport or side-of-house without a trip hazard
  • Load management discussed where the supply will not carry full charging rate
  • Switchboard work and charger commissioning handled as one job, not two visits

Commercial, warehouse and strata

Shops, workshops and the light industrial units around Spotswood and Brooklyn. Work is scheduled around trading hours where it has to be, and quoted so a body corporate or a landlord can read it.

  • Distribution boards, submains and three-phase machine circuits
  • Exit and emergency lighting installed, and existing fittings maintained
  • High-bay and workshop lighting upgrades, including switching and zoning
  • Test and tag rounds for portable equipment and leads
  • Common-property lighting, car park and stairwell circuits for strata sites
Small jobs and unknowns

Not sure which of these you need?

Plenty of enquiries arrive as a symptom rather than a service: half the kitchen has no power, the safety switch trips every second Tuesday, or the building surveyor has asked for something you have never heard of.

Describe the symptom and we will tell you which category it falls into and roughly what it costs to find out. Small jobs are welcome — a single power point or a light swap is a real job, not a nuisance, and it gets the same quote and the same paperwork.

What every quote includes

  • An itemised scope, so you can see what is and is not in the price
  • Materials named — brand and rating, not "supply and install fittings"
  • The stages, if the work is better done in more than one visit
  • Testing, certification and make-good already inside the figure
  • Anything we recommend deferring, with the reason why

Quotes are sent by email so you have them in writing to compare.
