Elecden Electrical Services Pty Ltd is a Victorian company doing domestic and light commercial electrical work in Melbourne's western suburbs.

The company is registered at a VIC 3015 address — Newport, Spotswood and South Kingsville — which is also where most of the work is. Keeping the radius small is deliberate. A fault call is a short drive rather than a half-day. Coming back to hang the pendant you settled on after the plasterer finished is not a logistics exercise. And we already know the housing stock before we pull up out the front.
That stock is mostly period: weatherboards, Californian bungalows and interwar brick, mixed in with the warehouse conversions and light industrial sheds running down towards Brooklyn and the docks. The electrical problems repeat. Undersized mains. A board extended twice by two different people. No residual current protection on the lighting circuits. A rear extension fed off whatever cable happened to be nearest at the time.
None of that is unusual and none of it is a disaster — it just needs doing in the right order, by someone who has seen it before and is not going to guess.

Where something is hidden behind plaster or under a floor, the quote says so and prices the likely outcomes. Surprises get discussed before they cost money, not after.
Compliance is not an optional extra
Correct protective devices, testing on completion and the Certificate of Electrical Safety for prescribed work sit inside the price. They are not a line you can decline to save a hundred dollars.
We stay inside our scope
If the job needs a licensed plumber, a structural repair or a solar retailer, we say so and stop. Improvising around another trade's work is how small problems become expensive ones.
On site, every job
- Drop sheets down before tools come out, and floors left clean at the end of the day.
- Any power interruption agreed with you first — nobody loses a freezer or a work call by surprise.
- Circuits identified and labelled as they are terminated, not from memory afterwards.
- Penetrations made good, cables clipped and supported, old fittings and packaging taken away.
- Testing done and paperwork issued before the invoice is sent.
Occupied houses get treated as occupied houses, not building sites.
Most of our work happens while you are still living there.
Renovation wiring in an empty shell is easy. The harder version — and the more common one — is a switchboard upgrade in a house with someone working from the front room, a toddler asleep down the hall and a fridge that would rather not be off for three hours.
So we plan the outage, not just the wiring. That means knowing before we start which circuits need to be dead and for how long, doing the preparation with the power on, and keeping at least one working power point available where you need it.
